The best multi day hikes in Europe
I did most of the multiday hikes in the Netherlands (my homecountry) and in Europe. When I started hiking in 2004, I had never thought that there would be so many hiking trails in Europe. Although I have done countless trips in the Netherlands (my former homecountry, I moved to Sweden three years ago), I have not mentioned them all, but only two of my favorites. The list would otherwise be endless as you can easily walk all your life in Europe and not hit a trail twice. Here are my favorite hikes in Europe:
Mullerthal Trail, Luxembourg
A more famous multi-day hiking tour in Luxembourg is the Mullerthal Trail. This trail is in my opinion one of the most beautiful trails in Europe and offers the necessary challenge for both novice and more advanced hikers. It consists of 6 stages in 3 loops that are all between 15 and 25 kilometers. The Mullerthal is also called the Switzerland of Luxembourg (or Little Switzerland) and is made by bizarre rock formations, splashing streams and deep fairytale like forests.
Albsteig Schwarzwald
The Albsteig Schwarzwald in the Black Forest is another favorite of my multi day hikes in Germany. What a special trail this is! This medium-length hiking trail leads you through the hills of the southern German landscape along waterfalls, over narrow mountain paths and crystal clear lakes. In the spring you can still have a chance of snow at Feldberg, the winter sports resort of southern Germany. There was still snow when I got to the summit mid-May.
Goechala Trek (Spring)

This is when the trail bursts into colour. Rhododendrons bloom across the forests of Kanchenjunga National Park, turning sections of the trail red and pink. As you climb higher, the views of Mt. Kanchenjunga begin to dominate the landscape.
The Goechala Trek is not just about scenery. It’s also a trek that demands effort. Long trekking days and steady altitude gain make you work for every view. But when you finally stand at the Goechala viewpoint and see Kanchenjunga rising in front of you, the sense of accomplishment is immense.
Chandrabhaga Glaciers Trek (Monsoon)
At the Chandrabhaga Glaciers Viewpoint, almost every peak of the Koa-Rong Range of Ladakh is right there in front of you. You see them from base to top, with arms of the Koa-Rong Glacier flowing down their slopes. This is perhaps the closest you can get to glaciers without having to deal with the technicalities of actually walking on them. Photo by Pritish Bhanushali
From the Kanamo Basecamp, it’s a steep climb over scree and moraine towards the top. Having a trek pole with you is a lifesaver. Photo by Vaibhav Jain.

Everest Base Camp (EBC) Trek
One of the best trekking destinations and certainly the most sought-after is the Nestled in the Sagramatha National Park of Nepal, this trek gives the closest view of Mount Everest and the feeling of being on “top of the world” literally. The trail itself is no less exciting, in this trek you cross the most beautiful villages, an unbelievable party city, monasteries, and frequent structures that tell the tale of the Everest summit.
This trek also gives the view of other great like Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Kala Patthar and many more. To tell you about the factual details, this one is a 13-day-long trek and is about 112 km long. Yes the terrain will be challenging as you’ll be trekking through areas of less to no vegetation, meaning the dropping of oxygen level is inevitable, making it a difficult trek. Being on the tops of the high-altitude Himalayan treks, this one is about 18,200ft or 5,364m in elevation. The best times to visit are spring, summer, and autumn.
Our trekking staff always carries a medical kit to face any emergency. Plus the trek is designed in a way to provide you with proper rest and nourishment on the trek. Making it to the highest base camp in the world gives a different type of satisfaction that cannot be experienced anywhere else in the world.
Bali Pass Trek (Summer)
The trek climbs above 16,000 feet and requires serious preparation. The terrain is demanding, with steep ascents, snow sections, and exposed ridge walks.
The summit push to Bali Pass is particularly memorable. Many trekkers rappel down from the pass, adding an extra element of technical adventure to the journey.
It’s the kind of trek where your heart is racing as much as your legs are working. For experienced trekkers looking for a challenge, Bali Pass delivers exactly that.
Hřebenovka Trail in Czechia
I recently hiked the Hřebenovka Trail in Bohemian Switzerland in Czechia. I usually go hiking in Czechia every other year and it’s nowadays one of my favorite hiking destinations, especially because their trails are so well maintained.
The Hřebenovka trail is one of the newest long distance hikes and the section through Bohemian Switzerland is actually the only well developed part of the trail. It’s just over 100 kilometers and absolutely stunning as well as challenging, with many ladders and stairs to be climbed and descended. Unfortunately, this region was fit by forest fires in 2023 which means that some sections of the trail are currently rerouted, however I hiked it recently (May 2025) and I still absolutely loved it.
Annapurna Circuit Trek
Among the high-altitude Himalayan treks, the has its special place. It is because of the different points of view it provides of the Annapurna Massif. This is certainly a difficult graded trek and takes around 15 days to complete. The trek is at 17750 ft or 5,416m of elevation and is challenging at all levels, especially on days when you gain sudden altitude. With the right amount of preparation and with the support and guidance of our trek experts, you can make it to the trek without many problems.
In the 122 km of the trail of this trek, you take a turn from the right wing of the Annapurna Massif. The trail goes through the scenic villages of Dharapani and Chame, stays a day at the colorful city of Manang for acclimatization, crosses the Thorong pass, visits the Muktinath Temple, goes to Tilicho Lake, and many more such amazing sites. All the while giving an unbelievable view of the Annapurna and the surrounding peaks. Because the trek is a tough one, it remains less crowded. The best time to do this trek is during the summer and autumn months.

Manaslu Circuit Trek
High-altitude trekking enthusiasts also watch out for the Manaslu circuit. Located in the Gorkha district of Nepal, this trek is not far away from the Annapurna Circuit trek, in fact, it has a few locations overlapping. In a matter of 14 days, you cover a distance of about 106 km around Mount Manaslu, which happens to be the eighth-highest peak in the world. Yes, the trek is certainly graded difficult and has only one day for acclimatization, making it all on the trekker’s preparations to decide the completion of this trek.
Being among the top Himalayan treks, it has its challenges, and the first of them is the elevation, which is at 17100 ft or 5,212m. But being at such a high elevation this trek goes through the most beautiful villages nestled amidst the great Himalayan range with waterfalls, suspension bridges, and epic views of the great mountain range. You also trek through the Larkya Pass which is the longest pass in the Nepalese Himalayan region.
The trek’s major portion goes through the Tibet-Nepal border, which requires you to have permits. By virtue of the region the trek is located in, you will get to see many serene structures dedicated to Buddhism.
